POSITION: Senior Metallurgist (10+ YRS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED)
PAY RATE: $110,000-$160,000+ per year with benefits (dependent on experience)
WORK HOURS: Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm
LOCATION: In Office – Fort Collins, CO or Lakewood, CO

Forte Dynamics is a consulting and engineering firm that specializes in mineral resource and reserve estimation, mine planning, blasting analysis, metallurgy, process design, recovery modeling, basic and detailed engineering, and construction management services.

We are currently seeking a Senior Metallurgist. This person will work with our management and senior engineers to focus on heap leach and process engineering for mine development and enhancement projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Review client metallurgical data, provide technical assistance, and make recommendations for equipment and process design
  • Serve as project manager on small and medium level projects
  • Support all aspects of projects: planning, design, permitting, execution, and operations support
  • Proactively manage projects to achieve quality, schedule, budget, and safety
  • Utilize project control tools to track and forecast project performance
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
  • Assist in engineering design of projects from scoping, prefeasibility, feasibility, detailed design to execution
  • Develop metallurgical laboratory testwork programs
  • Perform metallurgical balance analysis for mining operations
  • Assist in cost estimation for projects
  • Review and prepare project specifications & drawings
  • Assist in preparation of proposals for engineering services
  • Review and prepare reports, technical memorandums, and presentations
  • Assist in procurement of equipment, supplies, and contracts
  • Perform field engineering and construction quality assurance (CQA) duties during construction and commissioning
  • Ensure projects are designed and constructed with safety being the highest priority

Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
  • Degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, Process, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering/science degree
  • 10-15+ years of relevant engineering experience (mining, mineral processing, chemistry, or other related fields preferred)
  • Laboratory testing experience is beneficial
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally is required
  • Experience with development of laboratory testing programs and data analysis preferred
  • Work experience in various base metals or industrial minerals preferred
  • Mine operations experience preferred
  • Knowledge in mineral processing operations and construction is preferred
  • Proficiency in process modeling and simulation is preferred
  • Project Management knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • MS Office, especially Excel
  • Ability work in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Dependability and strong work ethic
