POSITION: Civil Engineer or Geologist – Summer Field Internship 

PAY RATE: $18-$25/hour dependent on experience 

WORK HOURS: 14-days on, 7 days off from 7:00am-7:00pm 

LOCATION: Remote Field Site Located in Southern Idaho

Forte Dynamics is hiring for an internship position to support our operations. Forte Dynamics is a consulting and engineering firm that specializes in mineral resource and reserve estimation, mine planning, blasting analysis, metallurgy, process design, recovery modeling, basic and detailed engineering, and construction management services.  

Opportunity: 

Ready to dive into real-world field work this summer? Forte Dynamics is looking for an enthusiastic Civil Engineering or Geology student to join our team for a summer internship. This is your chance to work alongside experienced engineers on a remote drilling project in southeast Idaho. You will gain invaluable hands-on experience with field work on a drilling project at a proposed mine site.  Duties will include logging core, preparing and packaging core samples, writing daily reports, communicating with site and leadership teams, and assisting to ensure a safe, successful drilling campaign.  If you're a civil engineer or geologist with an interest in field experience, let's connect!

What You’ll Bring: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a closely related engineering field. 

  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn. 

  • Ability to lift up to 50-lb. sample buckets. 

  • Ability to work in the remote outdoors for up to 12 hours per day under various weather conditions. 

  • Foundational knowledge in civil or geotechnical principles. 

  • Familiarity with geotechnical testing concepts (a plus!). 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – you can articulate your ideas clearly. 

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Word. 

  • The ability to thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment – we work together to achieve great things. 

  • Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail – accuracy matters. 

  • Dependability and a strong work ethic – we value your commitment.
